We live in a day and age in which optimizing performance, recovery, and lean muscle gain are integral to every meal we eat and supplement we consume. We don't just consume post-workout protein and call it a day…we've learned from science that taking separate, free-form amino acids can give you that extra edge to take your progress to the next level. But are you optimally supplementing your amino acids?
Enter Amino IV: A BCAA product with added benefits to take it beyond just another BCAA.
Before reading any further…go grab your current amino acid product, and turn to the Supplement Facts. Look at the label and ask yourself these questions:
Chances are that your current product falls short in one or all of the categories. And that to us, is unacceptable. We live in a time when science allows us to optimize every aspect of our training and supplementation protocols.
You spend all the time and money working hard and eating right…why sell yourself short on your supplements?Formulated for Superior Versatility
What is every amino product built off these days? Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs). BCAAs are necessary, but don't be misled into thinking that taking these 3 amino acids is enough to reap their true benefits. Your amino supplement needs to go beyond the basics if you want to be more than a basic fitness enthusiast. This is the 21st century!
The body runs off what we call Essential Amino Acids. These are amino acids that your body cannot make on its own. They must be consumed via diet or you will not be able to grow. You see, when your body goes to make new proteins, like the proteins that make up your muscles, it requires that all of the 9 essential amino acids be present, not just the 3 BCAAs.
So what happens if you don't have EAAs present? Your body starts making muscle proteins to build muscle mass. It incorporates the BCAAs into the growing protein chains, but when the genetic code calls for an essential amino acid that your BCAA product does not provide, one of two things happens:
So while taking straight BCAA 's may be helping you in the fatigue department while training, it is falling short everywhere else. We set out to create a product that will truly bring you an edge.Amino IV – Unlocking the Power of Essential Amino Acids
In an all new category of its own, Amino IV has finally taken the next step: it provides you with the essential amino acids necessary for proper BCAA function. Before we even cover any other ingredients, Amino IV is already a 2 in 1 product. A true, properly formulated BCAA + EAA product.
This isn't just theory: it has been proven in the real world. Highly trained military personnel consuming an essential amino acid blend were found to experience a 33% increase in muscle protein synthesis1. Muscle protein synthesis is synonymous with muscle tissue growth, and a 33% increase in muscle tissue is nothing to scoff at.
What the researchers also noted was that increasing the amount of leucine in this essential amino acid blend further increased the rate of muscle protein synthesis in these athletes. This got our R&D team thinking…we can bring the best of both worlds rolled into one product. A leucine loaded BCAA + EAA product...Amino IVBut We Wanted More Innovation and Versatility…
We saw one totally new theme in our research. Leucine works best when provided with a proper dose of vitamin B6. Most B6 supplements use Pyridoxine HCl, an inferior form of vitamin B6 with minimal biological activity. Amino IV uses the more expensive pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P5P), the bioactive form of the vitamin. Why does this matter?
Because for those of you who are dieting down, leucine + vitamin B6 has been found to speed up your dieting-down goals2,3.* This isn't sensationalist BS you will read in some muscle magazine ad. This is well-conducted clinical research published in reputable scientific journals. The Amino Ancillary Matrix - Unveiled Taurine – The BCAA synergist
Taurine, when ingested alone, is suggested to improve muscle recovery following exercise6,8, spare muscle BCAAs from catabolism9, improve exercise performance6,7, and increase fat loss during exercise5.* Sounds a lot like the benefits of our EAA blend, right? Well taurine accomplishes these goals via a different mechanism. To put it simply, taurine acts within the muscle cell to increase force production while reducing unnecessary damage to the muscle tissue10.*
Remember, these are all benefits from taurine alone. Now what happens when you take taurine and pair it with BCAAs? A 2013 study found that combining taurine with BCAAs reduced soreness and improved muscle recovery more effectively than either component (taurine or BCAAs) taken alone4.*
This brand new research drives home an important point: if you're not taking taurine with your BCAAs, you're shortchanging yourself!Alpha-Hydroxy-Isocaproic Acid – HICA
Alpha-Hydroxy-Isocaproic Acid (HICA) has long been known as the special leucine metabolite with unique properties working in harmony with Leucine. It has been featured in Alphamine, and now we bring it to Amino IV.Lemon Verbena Extract
Here's something you've never seen or heard of before. PES is always on the forefront of new and exciting research, and this plant is the game-changer this category has needed for a long time.
Antioxidants have been suggested to be excellent for muscle recovery following exercise. Unfortunately, it's a double-edged sword: many antioxidants reduce the adaptations to weight training, resulting in poorer performance in the long-run.
Until Lemon Verbena, a true all-in-one antioxidant that can enhance, not diminish!*
